MP backs biodiesel tax break project

Liberal Democrat MP Andrew George is backing a to keep tax breaks for business who produce biodiesel.
Producers converting cooking oil into biodiesel currently take advantage of a 20p differential however that is due to end next April.
The St Ives MP, who leads the Lib Dem Environment Team, has been meeting the UK sustainable biodiesel alliance.
Mr George stated "a number of small companies in Cornwall presently earn money from used cooking oil".
He included: "In order to have the ability to get this type of market going it does require just a little bit of lift which is available in the form of tax foregone."
Biodiesel is a blend of conventional diesel, rapeseed and vegetable oils.
